Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (June 17, 2013) – Sun Sentinel launched a new feature in the newspaper and on SunSentinel.com on Sunday called “South Florida 100.” This exclusive forum features interesting, informed and influential leaders from the business, government, nonprofit, cultural and civic sectors in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties who are willing to talk about the news.
Every week, Sun Sentinel’s Editorial board will ask participants to share what they saw as the big stories of the week, along with those stories they think will be -- or should be -- in the news in the week(s) ahead. A sampling of participants’ comments will be shared each Sunday in the Sun Sentinel, and all will appear online at www.sunsentinel.com/southflorida100.
Participants in the “South Florida 100” include U.S. Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz; Former U.S. Senator Bob Graham; Urban League of Broward County President Germaine Smith-Baugh; Florida Panthers CEO Michael R. Yormark; Broward County Public Schools Superintendent Robert Runcie; Archbishop Tom Wenski of the Miami Archdiocese and many more.
“I’m thrilled to facilitate a forum that has attracted so many dynamic leaders,” said Rosemary Goudreau, editorial page editor. “Experience has taught me that a great newspaper can connect a community like nothing else. And when it comes to making something happen in South Florida, there’s nothing like being able to offer the platform of the Sun Sentinel.”
