By: E&P Staff Jim Dyer has been appointed vice president, classified advertising at the Sun-Times News Group (STNG). Dyer, 46, was previously the eastern region vice president of sales for Digital Media Communications Inc.
"Jim knows the classified newspaper and online advertising market inside and out," Barbara Swanson, group vice president of advertising and marketing for STNG, said in a statement. "He is the ideal person to help leverage the strength of the Sun-Times News Group and navigate this challenging market, and help our advertisers.
Dyer has held executive classified positions at Gannett, E.W. Scripps and the New York Times Regional Newspaper Group. He was also a key player in the launch of AutoTrader.com.
