By: E&P Staff The New York Times leaked last fall that U2 frontman Bono might be writing occasional op-ed columns for the paper in 2009, and confirmed it two days ago.
Now the first column has appeared: Not the political or issue-oriented piece some might have expected but an ode to...Frank Sinatra.
Excerpt: "Singers, more than other musicians, depend on what they know ? as opposed to what they don?t want to know about the world. While there is a danger in this ? the loss of na?vet?, for instance, which holds its own certain power ? interpretive skills generally gain in the course of a life well abused."
