By: E&P Staff Eighty-seven percent of adult consumers said they would visit a store advertised in an insert while 70% of consumers said they would purchase items advertised, a new study finds.
The research was conduced by Ipsos Insight on behalf of Valassis, a company that places free standing inserts (FSI).
Fifty-nine percent of FSI users said they "love reading inserts" and 73% believe inserts are not intrusive like other advertising media.
"This study reflects an important trend in consumer purchasing habits, suggesting consumers prefer to opt-in to information from advertisers on their terms," Michael Kowalczyk, Valassis vice president, customer marketing, said in a statement. "Preprinted inserts continue to be an effective way to increase awareness and drive product sales."
