Survey by Nevada Paper Puts Obama and McCain in Lead

Posted
By: E&P Staff With Saturday's key caucuses in Nevada approaching, a new poll by the Reno Gazette-Journal shows a tight race in both parties. One surprise is that John Edwards is hanging in there against Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. John McCain continues his amazing surge on the GOP side.

By this point, there should be no need to say: Take it with a grain of salt.

The numbers:

Barack Obama: 32 percent
Hillary Clinton: 30 percent
John Edwards: 27 percent

John McCain: 22 percent
Rudy Giuliani: 18 percent
Mike Huckabee: 16 percent
Mitt Romney: 15 percent
Fred Thompson: 11 percent
Ron Paul: 6 percent
Duncan Hunter: 1 percent

Margin of error is 4.5 percent. The poll of 500 likely Democratic caucus-goers and 500 likely Republican caucus-goers was conducted by Research 2000.
