Posted
By: E&P Staff The PrintCity Alliance in Augsburg, Germany, is making its new 24-page special report, "Sustainability, Energy & Environment," available for free at www.printcity.de/shop.

Various partly contradictory definitions, regulations and buzzwords lead to some confusion in our industry. This new PrintCity Alliance report reviews and answers frequently asked questions in this complex subject area and provides advice and access to suppliers with the relevant knowledge.

The report is also available for free from the following PrintCity members who shared their knowledge to create it: UPM, Sun Chemical, Sappi, M-real, MEGTEC, manroland, and Eltosch.

A resource for printers, packagers, consultants and business managers, the special report, in addition to its FAQ summary, is a complete introduction to the following subject areas: the printing ccosystem, the importance of waste, sustainability, why printers should care about greenhouse gases, how energy efficiency can be improved, air pollution, ozone and VOCs, "Kyoto 1990-2012 - How well is our industry doing?" and how readers can make a difference.

The 10-year-old PrintCity is a strategic alliance that shares worldwide expertise from independent companies in the graphic arts industry. Members work in partnerships within a complete workflow, from prepress through post-press, across the packaging, commercial printing and publishing sectors.
