By: Dave Astor "Bad Reporter," the political/pop-culture comic Don Asmussen does for the San Francisco Chronicle, will be distributed by Universal Press Syndicate starting this fall.
Asmussen mentioned that while speaking Friday at the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists convention.
Three syndicates had expressed interest in "Bad Reporter" after Chronicle Editor Phil Bronstein suggested that the newspaper try to get national distribution for the large-format comic (E&P Online, Sept., 29, 2004) . The two-year-old feature includes funny drawings, sight gags, mock interviews, offbeat lists, and more.
Why the "Bad Reporter" name? Asmussen told E&P Online last year: "The government gives us misinformation. I badly report this information. It comes out correct, because two wrongs make a right!"
