Talks Resume at Troubled 'Blade' in Toledo

Posted
By: E&P Staff Labor and management will begin talks again today at The Blade in Toledo, where five unions have been locked out for weeks.

Since March, about 600 workers at The Blade have been working without a contract, and unions have called for an advertising boycott. On Friday, the paper met with the Mailers union, and other meetings will start today.

The guild claims 10,000 readers have canceled their subscriptions, but the Blade says the number is closer to 3,000. It says the boycott has had no effect on advertising.
