By: Carol Pappas, publisher of The Daily Home, is leaving her position at the Talladega newspaper to start a multimedia marketing firm.

Also leaving the paper is Managing Editor Graham Hadley, who is joining Pappas in the new venture.

Pappas announced Friday that she has resigned her position, effective Feb. 26, to become president and CEO of a newly incorporated firm, Parnters by Design, based in Pell City. Hadley leaves the paper Feb. 10 to become vice president of the firm's creative division.

Her resignation includes retiring as a member of the board of directors for Consolidated Publishing, the Anniston-based parent company of The Daily Home, where Pappas has served as publisher since 1997.

"This was the most difficult decision of my life and my career because everyone I work with has been like family to me," Pappas said. "Twenty eight years at one newspaper is a long time, but I knew it was time to close one chapter and open another one."

Ed Fowler, Consolidated Publishing vice president of operations and former editor and publisher of The Daily Home from 1992 until 1997, has been named interim publisher for the newspaper.
