The Tallahassee (Fla.) Democrat and Tallahassee.com are putting the “local” back in local search by launching Tallahassee.FindItNow.com, a new search directory that features only area businesses.

A national brand that has now been localized for 23 markets around the country, FindItNow.com now enables local businesses to increase their online exposure on Tallahassee.com. Enhanced and Premium listings let businesses upload and customize such easy-to-use features as logo, photos, videos, online coupons, Web links, details and contact information. Those listings are then automatically optimized on Google and other major search engines.

Readers can search local businesses and user-generated reviews of those businesses by keyword or by browsing business categories. When readers register at the site, they can review local businesses and share directory content – business listings, photos, comments and reviews – with their Facebook friends through social media integration with Facebook Connect.

“Tallahassee.FindItNow.com will give our online readers and local businesses what they are always looking for – new and innovative ways to interact in the digital world,” Tallahassee Democrat President and Publisher Pat Dorsey said in a statement. “This new local search directory gives businesses a great tool to boost their existing Web presence and leverage Tallahassee.com, with the largest digital audience in the Tallahassee area, to promote their goods and services”

Businesses can go to Tallahassee.FindItNow.com to claim their free business listing and add basic business information, including adding one free coupon. They also can enhance their listings with packages that are only $49 or $99 per month.
