Tammy Chase Named STMG Communications Director

By: E&P Staff Tammy Chase has been appointed director of corporate communications for the Sun-Times Media Group (STMG). She will retain her current position as director of investor relations and will report to CEO Cyrus Freidheim, CFO William Barker, and VP of HR Greg Powell.

Chase, 40, will work closely with senior management to shape external communications with the media and shareholders in addition to developing programs and events related to the company's corporate giving through Sun-Times Charity Trust.

She has been with the company since 2000. She started as a business reporter for the Chicago Sun-Times and was named Lifestyles editor in 2004. In 2006, Chase was appointed as director of investor relations. Before the Sun-Times, she was a reporter for Bloomberg News and the Midwest bureau chief for The Bond Buyer.
