TAMPA BAY, FL – Tampa Bay’s favorite newspaper is teaming up with the award-winning
Stars and Stripes, the U.S. military’s only independent news media, to bring military news to local service members and their families in Tampa Bay.
The
Times will distribute 5,000 copies of the weekly
Stars and Stripes, which will be available on Thursdays in 40 blue news racks on MacDill Air Force Base and in nearby residential areas. A list of locations is available online at
tampabay.com/starsandstripes.
The free tabloid newspaper will feature articles and in-depth stories reported by
Stars and Stripes journalists from U.S. military installations around the world and local advertising.
“We are so honored to offer Tampa Bay this powerful combination of award-winning newspapers and serve our military community,” said Bruce Faulmann, vice president of sales & marketing for the
Times. “Our advertisers also are very excited, and we already have sold out many of our pages for the next year,” he added.
The partnership expands the Times’ presence in the community. Both the
Times and tbt*, the free daily edition of the
Times, are currently available on base and in the surrounding community.
