By: E&P Staff The Tampa Tribune announced today that it will manage packaging and insertion of the Sunday package for The Lakeland Ledger, beginning Feb. 22, and Sarasota Herald-Tribune, beginning March 1.
The New York Times Regional Media Group dailies circulate east and south of Tampa, respectively. The Ledger already handles some advance printing for the Herald-Tribune.
"We have the capacity as well as the operating efficiencies to handle these processes for multiple newspapers," Stan Volland, operations manager of packaging and transportation, said in a statement. "These relationships support our efforts to grow business by utilizing the assets of the Operations and Distributions Solutions Group, a part of Media General's Publishing Division."
A print site for USA Today and other commercial clients, the Tampa Tribune is part of Media General's Florida Communications Group, which includes other newspapers, niche publications, broadcast television and online operations in West Central Florida.
