By: E&P Staff The New York Times Co. said Tuesday that William E. Kennard, whose appointment as ambassador to the European Union was confirmed by the Senate last week, has resigned from its board of directors.
In a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing, the Times Co.. said Kennard submitted the resignation Monday with an effective date of Nov. 20.
A former chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, Kennard was first elected to the Times Co. board in 2001. He was most recently managing director of The Carlyle Group, a private equity firm.
