By: E&P Staff The St. Petersburg Times' free daily publication tbt* is expanding its distribution by 50,000, to a total of 431,500 copies.
The additional copies will hit newsstands and racks starting Oct. 12. On Monday through Thursday, 80,000 copies of tbt* will be distributed in the Tamba Bay, Fla., area while 111,500 copies will be distributed on Fridays.
"In this economic climate, it makes quite a statement about the confidence we have in tbt* to make this kind of investment," Joe DeLuca, publisher of tbt*, said in a statement. "We have to grow to satisfy the demand from our readers. We also want to continually reach new readers for our advertisers."
The average pick-up rate for the publication is 96%, according to tbt*. Additionally, the paper is increasing its color capacity.
