online. The company produces serial stories and teaching guides for Newspapers in Education programs in the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Bermuda.
"Newspapers increasingly have no space for educational features in print, nor can they afford a full-time person to select materials and coordinate distribution," Teachup's Mike Peterson said in a statement. "This allows them to preserve their relationships with both schools and parents by adding a link to their Web sites that will bring young readers back every week for the next chapter in the story."
Teaching guides can still be downloaded directly from the site but newspapers can also offer them on their own Web sites -- by masking the Teachup URL with the newspaper's own address.
