Ted Power Named Publisher of 'Reno Gazette-Journal'

By: E&P Staff Gannett named Edward (Ted) Power as president and publisher of the Reno (Nev.) Gazette-Journal. He succeeds Fred Hamilton, who left the company.

Power was previously president and publisher of two Louisiana papers, the Daily Advertiser in Lafayette and the Daily World in Opelousas. He was also vice president of Gannett?s Sun Coast Group, overseeing the company?s newspapers in Louisiana.

?Ted is an award-winning talented executive who has risen through the news side and developed into an innovative, energetic business leader,? Sue Clark-Johnson, president of Gannett?s Newspaper Division, said in a statement.

Power began his career in 1979 as a reporter at The Tennessean in Nashville, where he also served as copy editor, sports editor, and night editor.
