By: E&P Staff Results of a Gallup Poll released today suggest that newspapers rank pretty far down the totem pole when teens have a few minutes of down time.
When Gallup asked kids 13 to 17 if they'd done the following "yesterday," fully 9 in 10 said they'd watched TV. Here's the rest of the ranking:
Listened to music on the radio: 77%
Listened to music on CDs/MP3s: 76%
Used the Web: 60%
Played computer games: 37%
Read a book for pleasure: 33%
Read a magazine: 29%
Read a newspaper: 28%
Read a comic book: 7%
Gallup said that only in computer games and reading books was there a significant gap between boys and girls, with many more males playing the games while the girls read books.
