By: Jason Taylor has been named president and general manager of the Chattanooga Times Free Press, replacing resigning president Dan Nausley.
Taylor, 33, is the senior vice president/sales and marketing for The Honolulu Advertiser. His appointment is effective immediately, the Chattanooga Times Free Press announced Saturday.
'Jason brings extensive experience in advertising and marketing and will build the Chattanooga Times Free Press as a leading-edge media company,' said Walter Hussman, chairman and CEO of Little Rock, Ark.-based WEHCO Media Inc., the parent company of the newspaper.
While at the Advertiser, Taylor was named as the 2006 executive of the year among the Gannett Co.'s 96 daily newspapers.
Taylor has also worked at The Times in Gainesville, Ga. and The Daily News Journal in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
'I am excited to not only be coming home to Tennessee but to lead a newspaper with such a great reputation and track record of success,' Taylor said.
