Tensor Heatset/Coldset Towers to Bahrain

Posted
By: E&P Staff Tensor Group Inc., Woodridge, Ill., this summer will install a footprint-shaftless eight-tower, two-folder, heatset/coldest hybrid press at Al Ayam Publishing, Bahrain, printer of semi-commercial broadsheet newspapers, as well as weekly and monthly magazines.

The H-50 folders were re-engineered to process 14 webs. Each is equipped with a quarterfolder, triple RTF with urethane trolleys to ensure tension control, a longer and larger steep-angle conical former board with air, and larger roller point-of-former. The larger nip system is half-again the standard size.

Other new and/or modified features will include a multi-web severing device, pin and tuck brush package, jaw cam package to increase the jaw opening, larger half-fold delivery bucket, improved laser jam-detection system, and laced belt delivery transport system for easier belt installation.

Two of the eight T-400BE four-high towers will be dedicated to heatset and feature chilled ink vibrators and Quad Tech cutoff controls. The entire press is equipped with remote motorization, full helical gear train, bearers on plate and blanket cylinders, spiral brush dampening, insulated water trays, oil cooling, and slit-style plate lock-ups.

The press also will have Tensor double web turnbars, 14 Hurst autopasters, EPG remote inking, Quad Tech register guidance, and two vertical Jardis Global Drying systems.
