By: Dave Astor Syndication of content from The Huffington Post group blog/news site is scheduled to start Monday, June 6, on a test basis.
Tribune Media Services will send at least 10 newspapers HP material for free for 30 days. The papers will give TMS feedback about the daily content, and can publish it if they so desire. They are not obligated to buy the feature after the testing period ends.
"We plan to roll out more broadly during the first week of July," John Twohey, TMS vice president for editorial and operations, told E&P today.
The Huffington Post site, which launched May 9, is named after author/TMS columnist Arianna Huffington. It features contributions from approximately 300 celebrity bloggers from the worlds of politics and entertainment, as well as links to news stories.
TMS' syndicated version will be a "best-of" selection of small and larger items from the site.
