'The Argyle Sweater' Claims 200 Newspapers in First Year

By: Joe Strupp Scott Hilburn?s daily comic panel, ?The Argyle Sweater,? celebrates its first anniversary on April 6 with Universal Press Syndicate, according to a release.

In less than two years, it claims "The Argyle Sweater" has "risen from unknown to one of today's most regarded comic panels."

Universal says it is now published in more than 200 newspapers across the United States, with a book, ?The Argyle Sweater: a Cartoon Collection,? released this month by Andrews McMeel Publishing.

?Scott?s been making a big pot of humor stew ? What comes out of the pot is a grown-up?s comic inspired and drawn with childlike imagination,? John Glynn, vice president rights and acquisition editor for Universal Press, said in a statement.
