The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has named Mark Medici as its new vice president of audience, effective April 17. Previously vice president of audience and digital strategy at Cox Media Group’s
Austin (Texas)
American-Statesman, Medici will now oversee all aspects of print and digital audience development, as well as digital audience strategy, for the
AJC.
In this role, Medici specifically will help expand product offerings, grow revenue and find creative ways to meet the ever-changing needs of print and digital customers. In addition, he will continue to work on CMG newspapers’ paid content initiative and will serve as group lead for the other newspapers –
Austin American-Statesman, Dayton (Ohio)
Daily News, and
The Palm Beach (Fla.)
Post – as they redefine subscriber value, content publishing and their bundled and digital strategies.
At the
Statesman, Mark recently completed a reorganization of the marketing department and parts of the circulation department, creating a new audience department. The reorganization positions the Statesman for success in the digital content publishing and brand marketing arena. Additionally, he played a key role in redefining the
Statesman’s community newspaper strategy.
Before joining the
Statesman in December 2011, Medici worked at
The Dallas Morning News and
The Oregonian. In Dallas, Medici and his team successfully launched
The Dallas Morning News "Subscriber Content" initiative. His team was also instrumental in helping Dallas become the first metro newspaper to bundle all print and digital offerings for their paid subscribers in 2010.
At The Oregonian, Mark spent nearly 10 years in various sales and circulation roles.
