TOLEDO, Ohio, DATE-Today, The Blade newspaper in Toledo, Ohio, announced the addition of a new free iPad app to its growing menu of news applications.
With the launch of iPad, The Blade is now available in five very different reading experiences: the daily printed morning newspaper; eBLADE-the paper without the paper; the toledoblade.com website; phone; and iPad tablet.

The free iPad application will feature:
• Top stories of the day and breaking news as it happens
• Videos from around the internet of the latest news, sports and entertainment
• Multi-level navigation that lets users search by topic, photos or videos
The Blade's other electronic formats offer other benefits to users:
• eBLADE-the paper without the paper-has the same look as the printed edition, but with sharper photos and interactive advertising. It's emailed to regular Blade subscribers' desktops every morning at no extra charge.
• toledoblade.com, the publication's website, has been newly streamlined to provide quick uncluttered access to the day's top stories, with regular updates throughout the day, and breaking news when it happens.
• Mobile apps keep users on top of news, sports and breaking news via their cell phones wherever and whenever they want.
The Blade is Greater Toledo's only comprehensive daily newspaper. It debuted on December 19, 1835, making it the oldest continuing business in Toledo, Ohio - older than the city itself.
