By: E&P Staff The Forward, the venerable Jewish weekly, will produce three programs for the subscription-based cable network The Jewish Channel.
Each will feature Forward journalists "offering perspective and commentary on American Jewish life, news, analysis and film reviews," the media companies announced.
Forward Forum will feature a panel of Forward reporters commenting on and analyzing current political issues as well as arts and entertainment news. The roundtable will be moderated by Editor Gabriel Sanders.
TJC Movie Talk with Alana Newhouse will feature the Forward's arts and culture editor discussing new or classic Jewish films airing on the channel. Writers, directors, and critics will join her to "discuss the stories, messages and intrigue that arise from the Jewish films," according to the announcement.
On the program Inside the Issues, Forward Editorial Director J.J. Goldberg discusses issues affecting American Jews that range from healthcare, to the economy, the Middle East and the U.S. educational system.
The Jewish Channel, which launched last September, has a base of 15,000 subscribers and airs on Cablevision' in the New York metropolitan area.
