The Local Media Foundation Appoints Three New Board Members

The Local Media Foundation has appointed three new members to its board of directors to begin their term.   The new members are Eric Bright, Vice President of Marketplace E-commerce, Deseret Digital Media; Jed Williams, Vice President, Business Development and Strategy, VendAsta and Shannon Kinney, Founder and Client Success Officer, Dream Local Digital. In addition, Gordon Borrell, CEO, Borrell Associates, will join the board as treasurer. Borrell is the incoming chair of the LMA, a role that also serves as treasurer of the foundation.   LMA President Nancy Lane said, “The Local Media Foundation is referred to by some as the audacious cousin of LMA. As such, we attract progressive and innovative thinkers to this board and this year’s class is exceptional. These three individuals are pioneers in the areas of e-commerce, digital marketing services, social media and more. We look forward to their input and new ideas.”   The Local Media Foundation, serves as the innovation arm of the Local Media Association. Its training division provides the most advanced digital training in the industry in areas such as analytics, digital sales, social prospecting, Google AdWords certification and much more. To date, more than 2,000 local media executives have participated in one or more of these training programs. The Foundation also creates and produces the annual Innovation Missions and the monthly Local Media Interactive Alliance reports (research and case studies on emerging trends and new business models).   The Local Media Association is intensely focused on helping local media companies discover new and sustainable business models.It is a thriving and innovative association that serves local media companies (newspapers, TV, radio, directories, pure plays, and more) as well as several hundred research & development partners in the industry. LMA assists local media companies with the digital transition via cutting-edge programs, conferences, webinars, research and training.
