The New York Times: Catherine Pearson is joining Well

Posted

For many months, we’ve been looking for a talented health reporter to cover an endlessly fascinating and complex topic: relationships. We wanted someone who could parse the latest studies about the state of American families; who could write service and enterprise stories about marriage, sex and friendships; and who had the empathy and care to interview people about some of the most intimate aspects of their lives. We have found that person in Catherine Pearson.

Catherine comes to us from HuffPost, where she’s spent 11 years covering personal health, wellness and parenting with a service bent. Since 2020, she has also been covering COVID-19, writing on everything from changing public health guidelines to the mysteries of household transmission.

Catherine grew up in West Hartford, Connecticut, and received her B.A. in English from N.Y.U. and a M.A. in journalism from Columbia. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband, two sons and a pandemic puppy, Annie. Her first day is April 18. Please join me in welcoming her to the desk.
