The Press-Enterprise Names New Publisher

Michael H. Burns, senior vice president of sales at the Orange County Register, has been named by Freedom Communications to lead The Press-Enterprise as its publisher.

The announcement by Freedom Communications CEO and Register publisher Aaron Kushner came as ownership of Inland Southern California’s flagship paper transferred from Dallas-based A.H. Belo in a $27.25 million sale that closed Thursday, Nov. 21.

Burns replaces Ron Redfern, who is retiring as publisher.
