Thousands Stolen from 'Concord (N.H.) Monitor'

Posted
By: A former accountant at the Concord Monitor is accused of stealing as much as $150,000 from the newspaper over four years.

Lisa Grass, 45, who now lives in Lambert Lake, Maine, was indicted six months ago, but the indictment said only that she was charged with stealing more than $1,000.

The higher figure is in a police report that recently was made public in correspondence between lawyers. The report says Grass was the first to report the theft -- but did so knowing Monitor officials suspected her and were about to call the police themselves.
