Three Editors Named at 'Arizona Republic'

By: E&P Staff Three editors at The Arizona Republic have been promoted to new positions. Nicole Carroll has been named executive editor of the paper and azcentral.com, John Leach has been named managing editor for daily print and online operations, and Jeff Dozbaba has been named managing editor for daily print and online content.

Carroll has spent 9 years at The Republic, working as managing editor for features and innovation, features editor, and city editor among other positions during her tenure. She has also worked at USA Today and the East Valley (Ariz.) Tribune. In her new role, Carroll will also manage First Amendment reporting team and the data center and the entertainment center.

Leach, a 28-year veteran of the paper, was most recently managing editor. In his new role, he will supervise print operations at the photo, design, and copy desk. He will also continue to oversee digital operations.

Dozbaba, who has spent 30 years at The Republic, was promoted from senior director for local content. His duties will include overseeing coverage of metro and regional news, business news, and sports.
