Three More Cartoonists Pinch-Hitting for Ill Creator of 'Big Top'

By: E&P Staff Three more Universal Press Syndicate cartoonists are drawing "Big Top" while that comic's creator, Rob Harrell, recovers from cancer surgery behind his right eye.

Originally, 12 Universal cartoonists agreed to each do one "Big Top" strip for this week and next, with Harrell resuming March 20 (E&P, Feb. 23). Now, the March 20, 21, and 22 comics will be done by Ruben Bolling ("Tom the Dancing Bug"), Scott Stantis ("Prickly City"), and Tom Wilson Jr. ("Ziggy"). Harrell's return has been switched to March 23.

"Big Top," which features a cast of circus animals and their friends, appears in about 40 newspapers.
