Three Punch Lines a Day in New Strip

Posted
By: E&P Staff A comic that offers three punch lines per strip is being launched April 4 by King Features Syndicate.

"Triple Take" is written by Todd Clark (who also does "Lola" for Tribune Media Services) and drawn by Scott Nickel. The idea for the feature came from King Editor in Chief Jay Kennedy, who said: "Ask any cartoonist who has labored all day on one punch line and they will tell you how difficult it is to create three gags for one set-up."

Nickel, who works at the Paws Inc. studio of "Garfield" creator Jim Davis of Universal Press Syndicate, added: "If we're successful at least two out of three times, we have a better batting average than major-league baseball players. And we do it without steroids!"
