By: Joe Strupp Actor Tim Robbins has written a new play based on the embedding of reporters in Iraq called, what else,
Embedded.
It is set to open Nov. 15 at The Actors' Gang Theater in Hollywood, which Robbins has been associated with for 22 years. He will also direct the play but not star in it.
Robbins' publicist and the theater company's management declined to discuss the specifics of the piece, or how he researched it, but speaking in Long Beach, Calif., earlier this month, Robbins said the play "tells the story of embedded journalists in Iraq and the manipulation of truth on the part of our government with regards to the war."
At a recent appearance at a film society in Pleasantville, N.Y., he said that it also closely explored the relationship between soldiers and reporters.
