TIMES MIRROR APPOINTS ZIMBALIST CFO

Times Mirror announced that Efrem Zimbalist III has been named chief financial officer.
Zimbalist, 52, was an executive vice president at Times Mirror and president and CEO of Times Mirror Magazines.
To be effective Jan. 1, Zimbalist will oversee accounting, audit, strategic development, finance, tax, and investor relations. He will also be responsible for Times Mirror's legal and information technology departments and Times Mirror Resource Management Co.
At Times Mirror Magazines, Jason E. Klein will step up as president and COO to oversee day-to-day operations of the company's 20 consumer titles. Zimbalist will retain his title as CEO of the magazine division and add the title of chairman.
