Digital revenue at the English-language daily Times of Oman took a 10,000-percent leap in less than three years after Chief Executive Editor Scott Armstrong made the bold move of exiting Google AdWords.
"Had we stuck with the ad network, because the pageviews grew, the money we would have got would have been about a 365-percent increase. But because we turned the ad network off and started selling ourselves, it's been a 10,000-percent increase," said Armstrong.
