Headquartered in Scranton, Pa., and now operating in 10 states, with 42 small- to mid-sized print properties, 17 radio stations and a distribution company, Times-Shamrock is upgrading and automating its prepress with Agfa Advantage N-SL computer-to-plate systems and Agfa N91V plates.
The third-generation, violet-laser Advantage N-SL was built for affordability, reliability and ease of use, and was designed for small to mid-size newspapers and coldset web printers, according to Agfa.
The Advantage N-SL can image up to 100 plates per hour, features automatic plate loading from a 100-plate stack loader, and offers on-line processing. It handles both Agfa Graphics' current N91V and the new N92-VCF (violet chemistry-free) plates. The N91V plates chosen by Times-Shamrock can be imaged at up to 200 lpi.
