By: Tribune Media Services (TMS) of Chicago said Thursday that it will eliminate 52 positions at its entertainment products operations in Glens Falls, N.Y.
The layoffs result from TMS's purchase of a majority interest in TVData Technologies about three months ago. The staff reductions "eliminate duplicate positions in the editorial, information technology, and sales divisions," according to a press release from TMS. "Employee termination dates will range from Aug. 31 to February 2002."
TMS said affected employees will be given severance packages, an outplacement workshop, a job fair, and an employee-assistance program.
TMS is a subsidiary of the Tribune Co.
