TODAY'S LETTERS: Ann Coulter, Fallen Soldiers, Tribune Health Plan

Posted
By: E&P Staff Readers still had lots to say today about Ann Coulter as well as fallen soldiers and the Triibune company's surcharge on smokers.

Ann Coulter on CNBC Show: Jews Need 'Perfecting'
I have heard rhetoric like this many times before - perhaps Ms. Coulter believes she is an Aryan. She does meet all of the criteria: blonde hair, fair complexion, foaming at the mouth, and espousal of Nazi propaganda.

I have been horrified and outraged at the media attention paid to her.

Marcia Z.

Ann Coulter's comments seemed to be that more than just Jews needed to become "perfected" by becoming Christians. She intimated that ALL others would be perfected if they became Christians.

That is the exact same attitude of fundamentalist Muslims who believe the Kuran dictates to them that they must convert ALL infidels to become Muslims or kill them.

There is not all that much difference it seems between the Muslim religious zealots who are a danger to the world because they feel it is their religious duty to kill or convert everyone and the Christian right, who have a similar agenda in their own insidious way. They are both equally as dangerous.

I have always thought that this woman was two cents short of a dollar and I was completely blown away by her book in which she spoke about the widows of 9/11 as being liars and tools of the liberal press and were being paid to give out information that was seen as damaging to our government.

Now she has really gone too far, not only has she doubted my patriotism because I am a Democrat but she has now used hate mongering about my religion/race. This woman is very dangerous and her ideas unfortunately are shared by many as I live in Texas and have seen this first hand.

I do believe that someday she will get what is coming to her and I hope I am around to see it. As for you Ann Coulter your ideas could have come right out of the lips of the Nazi party and you my dear are the one who should be kicked out of this country for you insanity or better still sent to a mental institution where you might get some help, but then of course your doctors might be Jewish and I don't really think they would want to help someone like you.

I totally agree with you that her not realizing what she is saying and how offensive it is, is an even scarier thought. Boycott her books, protest and demonstrate at her book signings and do whatever else you can think of to rid our country of this vermin.

Susan

I think that she is entitled to her opinion. I personally never cared for her, but everyone that I know knows that there is room for aweful behavior in the Jewish religion. I suggest doing some real research into Judaism's ugly side if you are not aware. Ann, frankly, was being kind in what she could have said about Judaism. Being educated is the best bet we've got as Americans.

We Jews have had to endure 1,700 years of CHRISTIAN persecution that began with a Roman genocide 2,000 years ago and which culminated in a holocaust of murder perpetrated by the Nazis. Today we have the Arabs (funded by the Americans and Europeans, and ideologically linked to the Nazis) and face constant attempts by the American government to weaken and ultimately destroy OUR country - Israel.

And this loud-mouthed Coulter has the eternal gall to demand on TV that we Jews become perfected Christians?

People like her are the reason that many Israelis start conversations about non-Jews with, "k?dem kol, kol goy?m Hay?t" - "first of all, all goyim are animals".

Anyone who listens to Ann Coulter is a fool.

Why does Don Imus get villified for the admittedly stupid comment he made , when Ann Coulter is ALLOWED to make nasty comments about all sorts of people over & over? She is like the Teflon hate monger .... Doesn't anyone get it ?

When you get transcripts from Media Matters...you might want to double check the entire exchange.

This happened before with Rush and now it seems the whole story has fallen to the sidelines.

Because Media Matters didn't supply the entire transcript

Cherry picking to get a reaction is risky business.

Please tell Ann Coulter that if she was acting like a christian she would not be making people mad or angry.

Ann Coulter is a disgrace to Christianity. Good, practicing Christians encourage love and tolerance. Good Christians do not run people off. Ann Coulter doesn't have what I want. Ann Coulter has religion but not spirituality. Ann Coulter can do the dogma. Ann Coulter runs on at the mouth like a bad case of diarrhea.

Shame on you CNBC for allowing more hatred to be spread. You can't find anything else to report on with all your sources. Get a new manager!

Why would you use a transcript provided by Media Matters? Does E&P not have the ability to get the original transcript? Clearly, you haven't tried. I've read the original and only a moron would conclude Ann Coulter was being anti-semitic.

And you wonder why only 13% of American's think journalism is a respectable profession. Only 13%? WOW! Keep up the journalistic malpractice. You'll have negatives soon.

Paper Highlights Photos of 48 Soldiers Killed in Iraq

I am a mom of a returned soldier.

I remember the morning he called me October 5th, 2007 from Main. And he said Mom I am in the states. What a load it took off of me.

The article of your where you remember our fallen brought tears to my eyes.

Lets not forget a single one.

But lets remind ourselves to thank all those who return!

Welcome home to all our heros and Gods Blessing upon you!

Tribune Anti-Smoking
While this discrimination against smokers appears to be a management maneuver to exploit a questionable health prejudice for their own specious financial gain, Tribune Co. begs a larger issue ? the larcenous exploitation of our national health by the mercenary health-care-industrial complex.
