Tolerans to Join PrintCity Alliance in 2010

Posted
By: E&P Staff Tolerans AB, Stockholm, Sweden, has joined the PrintCity Alliance for 2010, expanding its opportunities for knowledge sharing and undertaking joint projects in all aspects of web offset printing and finishing.

A supplier of in-line stitching systems for newspapers and commercial printers since 1947, the Swedish company has systems in more than 70 countries.

In-line stitching is a growing trend and already the norm in many places largely because it supports newspapers' increasingly popular compact format, making them easy to navigate, aiding portability, securing recycling and providing better packaging of supplements while increasing value for readers and advertisers.

"Being a rather small company on a global market, cooperating with other partners in the industry is essential," Tolerans CEO Jan Melin said in a statement.

As a member of the PrintCity Activity Group 'Publishing, Commercial & Web', Tolerans will participate in projects, events, exhibitions and publications.

Tolerans recently introduced Speedliner 2.0 in-line stitching systems designed for easier, lower-cost maintenance and operation, with less downtime. It also launched a slim model, the Speedliner S60 Compact, which requires half the space in a press.
