Thomas Claybaugh named publisher of The Greenville News

Thomas Claybaugh has been named president of the Carolinas media operations and publisher of The Greenville (S.C.) News.

Claybaugh is a 26-year veteran of Gannett, parent company of The Greenville News, who most recently served as president of the Central New York markets based in Binghamton. He also has served in various management and sales leadership roles in Ohio, Maryland, New York and West Virginia.

Claybaugh, formerly retail advertising manager at the Poughkeepsie (N.Y.) Journal in the early 1990s, has held sales leadership roles at the Rochester (N.Y.) Democrat & Chronicle, The Saratogian in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. and The Herald-Dispatch in Huntington, W.V.
