Top 20 Global News Web Sites for November

By: Jay DeFoore The number of unique visitors to the top 20 online news destinations declined slightly in November, as eleven of the top 20 sites recorded fewer visitors for the month, according to the online data tracking firm Nielson//NetRatings.

Google News saw the biggest increase among the top sites, jumping to 8.6 million uniques in November from 7 million in October. Yahoo! News, MSNBC, CNN, AOL News, Fox News Digital Network, Hearst Newspapers, Knight Ridder Digital, Cox Newspapers, and CBS News all saw declines. USA Today.com experienced the biggest decrease, dropping from 10.3 million unique users in October to 9.2 million in October. The amount was still enough to place the newspaper site at No. 10 on the list. (Compare with October 2005.)

The New York Times, Internet Broadcasting, Washingtonpost.com, BBC News, Advance Internet, WorldNow, Tribune Newspapers, and Gannett Newspapers all saw slight increases.
