Top executives often use the Internet to get business news and information,
contrary to the perception that executives at nontechnology companies aren't
tech-savvy, a survey released Monday shows.

According to the survey by The Wall Street Journal's online arm and
Harris Interactive Inc., industry news and information sites, general business
news sites, and search engines are their favorite online targets. Ninety-eight
percent use a computer and access the Internet at work, spending on average
nearly eight hours a week online. Only 12% of the respondents surveyed work for
technology companies.

The telephone and online survey of 399 senior executives at top companies in the
United States was conducted from October to December.
