FāVS News has appointed founder Tracy Simmons as its first full-time executive editor, according to an announcement submitted by the nonprofit newsroom. She will begin January 1, 2027, after leaving her faculty position at Washington State University’s Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at the end of the fall semester.
Simmons founded the organization in 2012. It covers religion and belief in Washington and Idaho and shares reporting with more than 20 media partners. Her priorities will include financial sustainability, support from donors and businesses, expansion of the wire service and grant funding.
