Alaska Politics Blog
Anchorage Daily News
By Julia O?Malley
Anchorage AM radio host Eddie Burke was suspended after broadcasting the names and phone numbers of organizers for ?the Alaska Women Reject Palin,? rally, which drew 1500 people on Saturday. Burke called the organizers of the rally ?socialist, baby-killing maggots? reported Julia O?Malley of the Alaska Politics blog of the Anchorage Daily News. Burke was suspended by KBYR-AM 700 without pay for one week. Burke's tirade led to angry profane and in some cases threatening voice mail messages for the two women mentioned on the air.

Top of the Times
Los Angeles Times
By Don Frederick
The Top of the Times reported today about the appearance of an irreverent UCLA blog on the remaining days of the presidential campaign entitled The Sprint. The Sprint is put out by UCLA Political Science graduate students and professors and as Don Frederick notes, it is ?adding much needed substance to the dialogue and perspective based on actual research rather than conjecture.? After that introduction, how can one not read more of a posting by Ryan Enos which asks, ?How good looking is Sarah Palin? I can tell you exactly. She is a 0.75 on a scale of 1.2 to 1.06." Mimicking Palin
The Caucus
New York Times
By Amanda M. Fairbanks
When Lisa Donovan watched Ms. Palin being nominated for the republican vice presidential nomination, she thought ?she had been handed a gift from the comedic gods,? according to Amanda M. Fairbanks of The Caucus. Even before Tina Fey did her SNL imitation of Governor Sarah Palin, Lisa Donovan has turned her own imitation into a YouTube sensation. Another Palin remark which is ?not quite true?
Washington Wire
Wall Street Journal
By Elizabeth Williamson
Monday afternoon Governor Palin raised approximately $1 million dollars in a three-hour visit to the Brookside Country Club in Stark County, Ohio. Palin relayed the story of a fouled up teleprompter which she says forced her to ad-lib ?big swaths of her acclaimed acceptance speech at the Republican Convention on September 3.? According to Elizabeth Williamson, Palin went on to tell the audience, ?There Ohio was right out in front, right in front of me. The teleprompter got messed up, I couldn?t follow it, and I just decided I?d just talk to the people in front of me?it was Ohio.? The problem is that even though it sounded good, this tale had already been debunked by both reporters and the Republican party in attendance at the convention.

Palin popular amongst Republicans in spite of Pew Research Survey on Mommy wars
By June Kronholz
Given the popularity amongst Republican crowds for Gov. Sarah Palin, a working mother of five as vice presidential candidate, A new Pew Research Center survey results are surprising. The survey found that gender and parenthood tug in exactly opposite directions within the two major parties reports June Kronholz of the Washington Wire. One in five Republicans said they were likely to support a candidate for Congress who has school aged children, compared to about one in three who said they would support a father who had the identical personal and career profile. Democrats showed precisely the opposite. 33% said they would vote for a candidate for Congress who is the mother of small children compared with 24% who said they would support a father who had the same profile. A 2007 Pew poll found similar trends. 53% of Republicans in the 2007 poll felt that mothers working outside the home was bad for society, compared with 38% of Democrats.
