Transcontinental Media Gets Seaway News

By: E&P Staff Transcontinental Media has announced its acquirement of Seaway News of Cornwall, Ontario today.

The News serves more than 36,000 households in the eastern Ontario
region, and will bring the total number of Transcontinental Media's
community newspaper holdings to 169, with approximately 250 million copies printed annually.

Transcontinental Media is the fourth-largets print media group in Canada, and is the country's leading publisher of consumer magazines and French-language educational resources, and is eastern Canada's largest publisher of community newspapers.

Seaway News, founded in 1985, is distributed weekly in Ad-Bag from Transcontinental Media. It will add to the roster of eastern Ontario publications in the Transcontinental Media line, such as L'Express, The Star, Weekly Journal, and Ottawa Business Journal.
