Travidia has launched a grocery-focused portal aimed at helping newspapers. The site will contain deals, recipes and editorial content.
Consumers can view weekly grocery inserts from multiple stores, compare prices, print maps and directions. In turn, grocers will have access to marketing intelligence reports based on shopping habits and readership of inserts. The idea is to give newspapers a tool to increase the value of advertising place by grocers.
"Grocers are looking for ways to stay in the eyes of targeted consumers and drive store traffic. Newspapers are looking for additional revenue in a challenging print advertising market," James Green, Travidia's chief marketing officer, said in a statement. "We have come up with a portal to help everyone -- publishers, grocers and shoppers."
Travidia is a Chino, Calif., based company with about 700 newspaper customers and provides a similar portal solution for the auto category.
