By: E&P Staff With Tribune Co. newspaper and broadcast revenues soft through the year, Chairman, President and CEO Dennis FitzSimon's bonus was reduced for the second year in a row in 2005, the company said in a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing Tuesday.
Chicago-based Tribune said its compensation and organization committee awarded FitzSimons a $250,000 bonus for 2005, down $10,000 from the year before. FitzSimons bonus also fell significantly in 2004, when it was cut by more than three-quarters from the $1.2 million he received in 2003.
FitzSimons is getting a raise in 2006, though. The filing said his base salary was set at $985,000, an increase of 3.1% from last year.
Tribune Publishing Co. Scott C. Smith will receive a base salary of $575,000, a $50,000 raise from 2005. His 2005 bonus was set at $154,000, down from $235,000 in 2004.
