Tribune Co. D.C. Deputy Named 'Wall St. Journal' National Politics Editor

By: E&P Staff Aaron Zitner, who is now deputy bureau chief of the Washington bureau for Tribune Co.'s newspapers and broadcast outlets, is joining The Wall Street Journal as national politics editor effective Feb. 22.

In announcement to staffers, Journal Washington bureau chief John Bussey said Zitner will head the paper's politics coverage "and help us expand that coverage on WSJ.com

Zitner was politics editor for the Los Angeles Times from 2006 to 2009, and was co-editor of its 2008 presidential campaign coverage. Before that, he was the Times' White House and economics editor.

Zitner has been a reporter for The Boston Globe and Concord (N.H.) Monitor.
