By: E&P Staff The Tribune Co. announced that Miles D. White, the fifty-year-old chairman and CEO of Abbott, has been elected a director of the company.
"Miles brings great talent and experience to the board," Dennis FitzSimons, Tribune chairman, president, and CEO, said in a statement. "His insights and perspective as the CEO of one of Chicago's largest companies will add significant value for our shareholders."
Abbott is a medical products and pharmaceutical company.
Also, the Tribune board announced a quarterly dividend of $.18 per share on common stock payable on Sept. 8 to shareholders of record at the close of business on Aug. 25.
