By: E&P Staff Tribune Media Services (TMS), which provides syndicated content for TV books and also sells space in the books for local newspapers, is asking bankruptcy court permission to partner with Advantage Newspaper Consultants (ANC).
Under the plan, first reported on MediaPost Publications' Web site by David Goetzl, ANC would take over the rep business at TMS. That amounts to 70 client papers that generate between $12,000 to $39,000 per paper, according to bankruptcy court filings.
The three-year deal is expected to generate cash flow of about $453,000. TMS will get a 15% slice of the revenue ANC gets from the contracts, and will also make a one-time payment of about $34,000.
Fayetteville, N.C.-based ANC sells ads for the TV books in about 200 newspapers.
